Recipe: Cake Mix Red Velvet Cookies

So I'm really into cake mix cookies now ever since I made the funfetti recipe that I shared with you guys.

I wanted to try out another recipe so today I'm sharing my take at red velvet cake mix cookies. Sounds delicious right?! They are!

Ingredients-

1 box of red velvet cake mix
1/3 cup oil
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
Powdered sugar

Directions-

Start by mixing everything except the powdered sugar.

Roll your dough into small balls (it should make about 24 cookies) and then roll them in powdered sugar.

Bake them in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes.

That's it!

The result is delicious, cakey, red velvet cookies that you will LOVE!

These are so easy, only call for a few ingredients, and only took me about 5 minutes to whip up. Give them a try and tell me what you think!

Meet Cute Attack Store

Cute Attack Kids is a super cool store in Brooklyn, NY. No, I don't live in NY, but that doesn't stop me from loving this store.

They have an amazing selection of kids apparel, toys, accessories, and more! They have some of the coolest, most trendy brands around. I love that this place is a one stop shop that I can go to to get a wide range of brands and products for James.

Here are some of my favorite items-

Green With Envy

Pretty sure if two year olds could be envious of each other's clothing that they would all be pretty envious of James in this outfit. I mean, ninja turtles shirt, green moccs.... Hello! These are the clothes that two year old dreams are made of.

On this particular day we volunteered at our church's TOMS event.. They gave 100 pairs of TOMS (personalized and decorated and all) to needy kids. How cool is that? So we packed up the fam and helped out. Truth be told there were so many volunteers that we really didn't even have to help out that much. There were cool carnival games, candy, and snow cones and James had a blast. He was filthy dirty from running around all afternoon.

Here are some photos-

DIY: Gold Plastic Animals

Oh hey, it's me again, your ever so crafty friend (not really). But I'm kind of on a DIY roll here and I LOVE it. Mostly I would just rather buy things already created for me, but sometimes said things don't exist so you have to create them yourself!

Am I the only one who trolls Pinterest with the search terms "plastic animals" ?!

I decided I needed some plastic animals in my life after I saw all the genius things you could do with these guys, I decided to spray paint them gold and put them on display in my house.

Next time I would really like to try to cut these suckers in half and make magnets but I decided to go the easier route first.

Supplies needed-

Plastic animals. I chose a giraffe, elephant, and narwhal plus I got a bag of dinosaurs to do too.

Rust-oleum Gold Metallic spray paint.

Spray paint primer.

I got everything from Amazon and was able to combine it all for free shipping which was nice.

The large animals were about $7 each, the paints were $5 each and the bag of Dino's was about $10. I spent about $40 on this fun project all together.

You could probably get the animals for cheaper if you just go to Target in the party aisle and get the little tube of tiny animals. I think they are $3.99. I really wanted larger animals though and the price still wasn't bad.

Instructions-

-Prime your animals. Most likely you'll have to prime one side, let it dry, and then prime the other side. Priming is important because it prevents the gold paint from bubbling. It took me about 20 min each spray before the priming was dry and I could flip them and prime the other side. I used an old box and a pizza box to lay them in.

-Spray paint your animals gold. Again, you'll probably have to do one side, let it dry, and then do the other side.

I basically did two light coats back to back on each side within a minute of each other. Than I let them dry completely and repeated with a second back to back coat. Then I turned them all over and repeated. Make sense?

^^ Here's my animals after they were done being spray painted.

Let them sit a good couple of hours before taking them inside and putting them on display!

I ended up gifting some of these cool guys to some friends because I just had so so many. I think they are a fun and cool way to add some funk and life to ny room and they just look cool!

Disney For The Win

You guys, I guess this is where I should apologize for the fact that I've been posting WAY TOO MANY DISNEY POSTS. The thing is, now that we live back down in LA, we are so close, and it kills me not to go at least twice a week. That's sick right? It's got to be but it's the truth. I'm totally one of those crazy weird Disney people.

James loves Disneyland. I love Disneyland. We have a pass that we paid for so now I think of it as being free and if I pack our lunch I don't have to spend a dime when we go. That's amazing in my book. We usually go for a whopping three hours and then call it a day. This way we just do our very favorite things and then we're ready to bounce home.

Since my blog is primarily fashion for littles with some recipes and personal things thrown in, I guess it really doesn't matter where I take the photos of James so long as I'm taking them and he isn't wearing the same thing every time. At least that's what I'm telling myself so I don't feel guilty about all the Disney photos.

With that being said, MORE DISNEY!

Disneyland With New Friends

We recently met some new fun friends at Disneyland. My Instagram friend Brooke and I have lots in common and both love Disney among other things (like diaper bags and our husbands have very similar jobs) so we decided to meet up at Disneyland with our littles in tow. Brooke's sweet daughter Avery was adorable and James and I had a blast.

Isn't it funny how you can meet good friends on Instagram? It sounds weird but it's true! I've met a lot of gals who are so sweet and who I really connect with. Sadly a lot of them live on the opposite side of the country from me and I hope to meet them one day. But a few of them live close by and that makes me happy.

James and I are always down to meet some new friends!

We had an awesome morning and I took some photos (obviously) so take a look.

^^^ Ahhh heart exploded right?! Avery kept hugging James on Small World and it was so sweet!

Cheers to Disney and cheers to friends!
