Meet Freshly Picked

I think by now, anyone who has ever read this blog knows just how obsessed I am with Freshly Picked Moccasins. I think James owns almost every color. (We skip the pinks and purples because my husband would kill me.)

Here's why I love them.

Freshly Picked Moccs are cute, stylish, and trendy. They are easy to get on, easy to take off, and they stay on James' feet. They are easy to clean, they hold up well, and they're comfortable!

I always size up so they fit him longer and his little feet have room to grow.

Our favorite color so far is emerald. We've tried them all but emerald is the winner because James thinks they are Peter Pan shoes.

I think Freshly Picked moccs are the greatest, most stylish shoes around and I think every kid needs at least one pair.

Here are some of my favs-

Routine

Do you guys have routines that you always stick to? I'm sure in some form or another you do. Right now our routine involves going to the playground first thing in the morning. Usually even before we've had breakfast. Sometimes that means we have to bring a towel to wipe down the wet slides but it also means it isn't packed full of kids yet, it isn't hot outside, and I can bring my morning cup of coffee along with me. Because coffee is clearly my routine too.

I think doing something fun like hitting the playground every morning is a good way to start our day out on the right foot. It makes James so happy and it gives him something to look forward to every day. Whatever else the day holds in store for us, he knows Mommy will take him to the playground as soon as he wakes up.

Simple And Easy

Here's a perfect example of how you can simply and easily dress your boy while still sending him out looking trendy, fashion forward, and put together. I know everyone has a pair of jeans and a tank for their kid. Pair it with a cardigan that adds a pop of color and some unique shoes for a cohesive and stylish look!

Recipe: Spaghetti Pie

Today I'm sharing my recipe for spaghetti pie. I've been trying to make one new recipe a week and I've got a whole list of new dinner recipes to try so this is the first one I made. It turned out really great!

Ingredients-

4 ounces drained spaghetti
1 tbs butter
1 egg beaten
1/4 cup parm cheese
8 ounces ground beef
1 green bell pepper chopped
1 can of tomato sauce
1 cup cottage cheese
Half cup shredded mozz cheese

Directions-

Brown your beef. Drain the fat and then add the chopped pepper and cook until everything is tender and hot. Add the tomato sauce and heat through.

While you're doing that cook your spaghetti and add the butter until it's melted. Stir in the beaten egg and Parmesan cheese.

Coat a casserole dish or pie plate with cooking spray.

Press spaghetti mix onto the bottom and sides of the plate to form a crust.

Spread cottage cheese on the bottom and up the sides of the pasta crust.

Spread meat mixture over cottage cheese.

Sprinkle with mozz cheese.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and heated through.

To serve, just cut into wedges.

You'll love this recipe!! Try it out next time you're looking to make something new.

Meet Sweet Luka Mo

Another new and recent favorite of mine. This shop is run by the sweetest most talented mom and has amazing leggings (among other things) which are always my favorite. Her signature heart pattern comes on tees, raglans and sweatshirts and is super cute! She has a wide range of leggings- some which are classic and neutral while still being fun and unique and others that are funky and fresh!

These items are quality, made to last, stylish, and totally unisex so if you've got boys who are hard to shop for, this is your new go to!

Her items pair well with everything meaning you can snag a pair of pants and put them with scads of tees and tops your child already has. They are very soft and comfortable so your little ones will LOVE wearing them!

Halloween

Get ready to die. From cuteness. And the best costume ever. James was old enough this year to pick his own costume and he of course chose Peter Pan. Though a ninja turtle and Captain Hook were close seconds.

My mom and I made the costume and I'm so proud of it! James already had the hat and sword and Freshly Picked moccs make for the perfect Pan shoes so we just had to dye the tee and tights green, fringe out the tee, and add a belt. So easy.

Last week Friday we went to the Fuller Seminary Annual Harvest Festival in Pasadena with some friends and James had a blast. I'll start by posting the photos I took there-

James had so much fun dressing up for the harvest festival that when he woke up the next day he was sobbing to wear the costume again. He kept crying- "BABY WEAR PETER PAN TIGHTS!" Yes, he calls himself baby. It was so painfully cute. I just couldn't let him wear it every day though or else it would have been ruined before Halloween. Anyway! It was a huge hit.

On Halloween we got back into the costume and went trick or treating around our neighborhood. Wow, they go all out, and I love that! We live in a neighborhood where every home is a million dollar home so the candy is amazing! (No, we don't own a million dollar home). My mom and sister came out and We went for two hours and had a blast. James kept saying - candy basket, HEAVY! A sure sign that he got a ton of candy. He loved every bit of it and so did I! I love Halloween through James' eyes and can't wait for next year.

Here's some photos I took-

And me and my sister-

Now that Halloween is over I'm going to let James wear his costume as much as he wants because I don't care if it gets dirty or ruined now. It is seriously his dream come true to dress up like Peter Pan. Candy aside, the costume is definitely what Halloween is all about. Seeing my boys face light up when he puts on his Pan suit, that's priceless. Make believe, imagination, being a kid... That's what Halloween is all about. Experiencing this holiday through the eyes of my son was way better than any Halloween I ever had as a kid.

Might just be my new favorite holiday. Thank you James, for bringing me light and love and for giving me the chance to experience this holiday all over again!
